You had me at...

..."When I first saw you, I thought, 'She looks just like Jennifer Connelly.'"

Seriously?  Wow.  You, sir, have just stumbled upon the BEST. COMPLIMENT. EVER.  If there's more where that came from, I think we're going to have to get married.

Poor Nora

I have been whiny lately.  Some of it is justified, some of it is childish.  I don't like being the whiny kid in school.  I'm going to try not to complain about anything tomorrow.

In other news, tomorrow is election day.  I'm gonna vote.  I'm such a grown up.

Lazy Saturday

My biggest accomplishment today was grocery shopping.  My biggest failure today was eating most of the Halloween candy I bought while grocery shopping.  My excuse in both cases has to be the dance last night.  I had a good time!  I danced hard enough to merit some extra sugar today.  I also didn't get into my bed until almost 4am, thus meriting the stay-in-my-pjs attitude I had most of the day.  But I guess if you count the fact that I went walking for almost a full 45 minutes this afternoon, this actually may have been my most productive day off this week.  How very sad.

To sum up:  Boat dance fun.  Sleep good.  Groceries purchased.  Exercise achieved.  Candy consumed.  Probably a good thing that I work tomorrow.

Mutiny at sea

Tonight I go to my first boat dance!  It's a cruise ship turned dance club.  I'm excited for the experience.  Excited to be dressed in costume!  Not so excited to be stuck in a potentially awful dance-type situation until 2am with no option to leave early.  Especially because of my silly little habit of hyperventilating in overly crowded and loud places.  Ah well.  If I have to be rescued by the coast guard and taken to the hospital, at least I will be dressed like a pirate.

Being natural

I love staying for late events at work.  The overtime is especially nice, but the best part it seeing the animals when most people have left.  When the sun goes down and the air is silent, the elephants stop looking for us to come and feed or entertain them and they turn into real elephants.  Something about the dark that makes it easier for a creature to let loose and be itself.  The night is peaceful, calm, and exciting at the same time.  I'm in love with that feeling.
